Every purchase comes gift wrapped just like candy. Instead of throwing out our leftover fabric, we re-cut it and use it as gift wrap.

The girls then use the fabric for making fun headwear, scarves, doll blankets..you name it!

Repurposing is good for the planet and good for the imagination!

Hi, I'm the owner of TwirlyGirl. If you have a moment, I'd like to explain our pricing.

There's been a lot of talk recently about bringing manufacturing jobs back to America, and we're doing something about it. All of our garments are proudly made in Los Angeles, CA. The cost of American labor is substantially higher than it is overseas… especially when compared to major brands that are almost certainly employing sweatshop workers. Morally, this doesn't sit right with us. I don't plan on lining our pockets by exploiting the work of others. Especially when there are plenty of skilled workers in this country who deserve to be paid a fair wage.

So while we can't compete with these brands on pricing, we can beat them on quality. It's a little difficult to convey the quality of our garments on a website. You can't feel the softness of the fabrics. Nor can you see the quality of our stitching. Both of these attributes are what make our garments retain their shape and stand up to rigorous wear. To someone trained in garment construction, the difference is night and day. Of course, we back it all up with excellent customer service. Returning customers and great word of mouth has built our brand.

But back to our quality. Is quality that noticeable to a child? You bet it is. So many of our customers tell us that their children insist on wearing TwirlyGirl every day. They struggle to get their kids to take it off long enough to wash! Customers also tell us that their kids wear our clothing for 2+ years. We design our styles with growing room. Girls tend to grow up, not out. And because of our high quality, it still looks like new and will often get passed down to the next child. These are the comments of actual customers, and you can read them on the blue Reviews Tab on our website.

We believe every woman remembers her favorite childhood dress. She loved how it felt, and how it MADE her feel. TwirlyGirl operates with that one goal in mind: to create her favorite dress or skirt. To do this, there has to be something magical about every garment. Take for example our reversible twirly dresses. For a child, owning a reversible dress is the coolest thing ever. A reversible dress requires twice the fabric, twice the stitching, and twice the labor. That works out to be around $43 per dress. For a high quality dress Made in the USA, we believe the price is very reasonable. Our non-reversible clothing may not require as much fabric, but the added design elements increase our costs. (Wings might grow on fairies, but they don't grow on trees!) Put simply, these are not disposable, mass-market garments. Each version is produced in limited quantities with a lot of care and attention to detail. It's why girls will remember their TwirlyGirl dress or skirt forever.

I started sewing TwirlyGirl as a special gift to my two daughters. Soon other moms asked if I would sew dresses for their children. A business was born! In the beginning, I hand sewed them on our dining room table. Ten years later, we're a national brand and it's because we've found an abundance of customers who share our values. And because of our success, we're able to donate a portion of all sales to Childhelp, a national non-profit that helps abused children.

Over the years we've received plenty of comments about how expensive we are, but not once has a customer told us it wasn't worth it.

Happy Twirling,

Cynthia Jamin

  • Super soft fabrics, no itchy seams.
  • Machine washable.
  • Stretchy Knit Polyester 96%/Spandex 4%
Story Head

“Oh, no!  It’s not perfect!” she cried. She, of course, referred to the Seamstress Owl who stayed up all day sewing TwirlyGirl clothing.  Working in bright daylight turned out to be a terrible idea. And now, inspecting her handiwork in the clarity of pitch darkness, it was obvious that she had made some mistakes.
“All this fabric!  All my hard work!  It’s all gone to waste!” she sobbed.  The Seamstress Owl couldn't bear to look at it, so she turned her head away.  But it just swiveled back to where it started.
“Oh, no!  There it is again!”
“Don’t cry,” said the Eagle in Non-Human Resources.  “I barely even notice the mistakes, and I have eagle eyes!”
The Eagle was right.  The mistakes were very hard to spot, and even if you could see them,  the clothing was still quite beautiful.
“I have a brilliant idea!” said a distant voice.  Everyone was puzzled.  Why was the wallpaper talking?
“It’s not the wallpaper, it’s me, the Chameleon in Accounts Receivable!  I’m right here!”
All eyes turned toward the Chameleon, the outline of his body suddenly becoming more noticeable against the floral wallpaper.
“Yes?  Tell us!  Tell us your idea!” said the Seamstress Owl, with hope in her voice.
The Chameleon then slowly licked his eyeball with his tongue.  He was milking the dramatic tension for all it was worth.  To be honest, I think the Chameleon was enjoying finally being seen by everyone.
“It would be a shame for all these beautiful garments to go to waste.  We should offer them to our loyal customers.  At 20-65% off.  Plus free shipping over $150!”
“But that’s a huge bargain,” cried the Eagle.  “What will the Ostrich Accountant think?”
“Eh, he’ll never know,” said the Chameleon.  “His head is always buried in the sand!”
