QUALITIES OF LIFE
Every girlie girl's heart's desire
TwirlyGirl
mixed-print reversible dresses ($70 at twirlygirlshop.com) put a
colorfully folksy spin on the circular logic. Marguerite Gaul in
Wheaton bought a purple TwirlyGirl dress for her 3-year-old daughter,
who calls it her "twirly-whirl dress" and wears it every chance she
gets (including to bed). Extending the appeal are coordinated leggings
and T's, roomy cuts that will fit up to a size 9 and the option of
custom-ordering the prints.
Whatever the style, Glenn sees the twirly-skirt trend as less of a
fairy-tale throwback and more as a free-spirited Cyndi Lauper statement.
Glenn confesses her own vicarious fantasy: "I want one for myself."
